Attorney volunteers serve in 2-hour shifts to take calls from the public and answer questions related to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, including housing, employment and benefits. Volunteers take calls remotely, through a downloaded app on computer or mobile device. Incoming COVID-19 Legal Hotline calls are screened by intake staff and directed through the app to volunteer attorneys for legal information and counsel within their areas of practice. Paralegal and law student volunteers are needed to help with call screening.
Informational materials and a legal resource directory will be provided.
If you are willing to volunteer for multiple events and/or multiple shifts, please complete the registration process for each event/shift for which you would like to volunteer. Thank you for your service!
The COVID-19 (Virtual) Legal Hotlines will be conducted using an internet phone service called Telzio. After registering for the event, volunteers will receive an email directly from Telzio that invites them to set up their user accounts. If you have registered as a Hotline volunteer, but you have not received an email from Telzio to set up your user account, please email us at [email protected].
