Entrepreneurs Assistance Program
Founded in 2007 as a project of the North Carolina Bar Association Business Law and Corporate Counsel Sections, the Entrepreneurs Assistance Program (formerly known as NC LEAP) coordinates attorney volunteers to provide pro bono business law advice and counsel to small business owners through webinars and clinics held in partnership with non-profit organizations throughout the state that advise small business owners, including Prospera in Charlotte and Mountain BizWorks in Asheville.
Entrepreneurs Assistance Program volunteer attorneys currently are providing assistance to entrepreneurs and small business owners through:
- Webinars that feature a presentation by a lawyer on a legal topic of current interest and relevance to entrepreneurs and small business owners, with the opportunity for participants to ask general questions of the presenters.
- Virtual “ask-a-lawyer” sessions pair individual entrepreneurs and small business owners with business lawyers for 45-minute advising sessions to address legal questions and concerns and provide legal information and resources.
Please note that the Entrepreneurs Assistance Program is no longer making direct pro bono case referrals for individual clients, but instead is focusing program efforts on webinars and brief advice and counseling services. Access the Entrepreneurs Assistance Program webinar archive.
If you are a non-profit organization that serves small business owners and you are interested in partnering with the Entrepreneurs Assistance Program program to offer legal services clinics to your clients, please email us at [email protected].
