D. Staton and Maude B. Inscoe Scholarship

The Inscoe Fund was established in 1994 through a bequest by Ms. Maude B. Inscoe to benefit worthy law students who have demonstrated financial need. The annual distribution from the Inscoe Endowment Fund is divided among all North Carolina law schools and each school’s office of financial aid is invited to identify one student recipient of this scholarship annually. Each law school may designate only one student recipient of this scholarship annually, and the student’s record must be clear of any disciplinary actions. The scholarship check will be issued jointly to the student and the law school and will be mailed to the school, directed to the attention of the person and address indicated in the school’s letter.

Designated recipients of the Inscoe Scholarship should have demonstrated financial need and exemplify the values of the North Carolina Bar Foundation, which include: access to justice, service, civic education, professionalism, and diversity, equity and inclusion.

NC law school students who are interested in being considered for an Inscoe Scholarship should contact their law school financial aid office for more information.
