A Power of Greater Good for the People of North Carolina

This is an exciting time for the Foundation. Thanks to the private support of NCBA members, the Annual Fund had a record-breaking year in 2017-18, which enabled the Foundation to serve over 10,000 North Carolinians through our signature pro bono and public service programs. The Foundation’s newest pro bono program, Free Legal Answers, has already served people in 89 North Carolina counties.  In the most recent grant cycle, the Foundation’s Endowment was able to award 44 grants to NC organizations and programs that advance the Foundation’s values. The dollars given to the Foundation last year profoundly impacted North Carolinians from Murphy to Manteo.

While we have much to celebrate, there is much more to be done. We envision a vibrant North Carolina where legal services are available to all, regardless of ability to pay; where members of the legal profession provide community service and leadership that profoundly impact the public, thereby demonstrating the value of our profession to society; and where all North Carolinians understand and have confidence in a legal system that serves them.
