Lawyers for Literacy Reaching Students at Home

The North Carolina Bar Foundation Lawyers for Literacy program volunteers help elementary school students improve their reading skills and expand their understanding of U.S. history and civics. Although in-school reading opportunities have been canceled in light of COVID-19, elementary students and their families can stream online educational stories video-recorded by Lawyers for Literacy volunteers.

A dozen stories already have been recorded, including “Abe Lincoln’s Hat,” “George Washington and the General’s Dog,” and “Benjamin Franklin & The Magic Squares.” If you would like to volunteer for the Lawyers for Literacy program, visit the Lawyers for Literacy program page.

All of the Lawyers for Literacy recorded books can be viewed on the North Carolina Bar Foundation’s YouTube channel.
